     "Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Doggett & Oliver Hickinbotom & Joseph Moss are held and firmly bound unto their Honors the Judges of the court of ordinary for said county, and their successors in office in the Just and full sum of four thousand dollars for the payment of which sum to the said Judges and their successors we bind ourselves, our heirs executors and administrators in the whole and for the whole sum jointly and severally firm by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 5th day of May 1817.
     "The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Thomas Doggett & Oliver Hickinboton administrators of the good chattels and credits of Chattin Doggett late of this County deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of said deceased which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of said Thomas & Oliver or into the hand or possessions of any other person or persons for them and the same so made do exhibit into the said court of ordinary when the shall be thereunto required, and such goods, chattels and credits do well and truly administer according to law and do make a just account of their citing and doing therein when they shall be thereunto required by this court of ordinary for said County and all the rest of the goods, chattels, and credits which shall be found remaining upon the account of the said administration, the same being first allowed of by the said Court shall deliver and pay to such person or persons respectively as are entitled to the same by law; and if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased and the same be proved before the Court, and the Executors obtain Certificate of the probate thereof and the said Thomas Doggett and Oliver Hickinboton do in such cases, if required render and deliver up the said Letters of administration then this obligation to the said...

     Reference:
My identification of the parents of Nancy DOGGETT (1775-1868), the wife of Oliver HIGGENBOTHAM, as Chatten DOGGETT and Sarah REYNOLDS (var. sp.) is based on:
     1. Principally, on the relatively large number of DNA matches that I with other descendants of these two parents, through siblings of Nancy (see attached images showing 55 matches to Chatten and 53 matches to Sarah); and
     2. Secondarily, by a number of family trees on Ancestry making this connection.
     3. An Oliver HIGGINBOTHAM was appointed administrator of the estate of Chattin DOGGETT in May 1817.
However, none of the family trees provide documentary proof of her parentage. so I only show it here as a likely hypothesis based on the DNA matches.^{15,6,16,17,18} GAV-5.

Principally & first I recommend my soul to Almighty God .. and my Body I commit to the Earth (from whence it came).. my worldly Estate I dispose of as follows.
     "I give and bequeath to my Son CHATWIN DOGGETT one Tract of land containing one hundred & sixty four acres lying in Lancaster County as also one Negro boy named Daniel But it is my will that in case my son Chatwin should die before he arrives at lawful age and w1thout issue of his body then the said land shall go to my Son THOMAS DOGGETT .. I give to my son Thomas Doggett one Negro boy named Harry. I give to my daughters SARAH ANN REYNOLDS & MARGARET SCRCOGGIN each the sum of ten shillings; And all the remainder of my Estate after my funeral charges & just debts are paid I lend to my beloved Wife ANN DOGGETT during her natural11fe and after her decease to be equally divided between all my children except Sarah Ann Reynolds & Margaret Scroggin aforesaid, who I do not intend shall have any more of my Estate that what they have already received & the ten shillings each above mentioned. My identification of the parents of Nancy DOGGETT (1775-1868), the wife of Oliver HIGGENBOTHAM, as Chatten DOGGETT and Sarah REYNOLDS (var. sp.) is based on:
     1. Principally, on the relatively large number of DNA matches that I with other descendants of these two parents, through siblings of Nancy (see attached images showing 55 matches to Chatten and 53 matches to Sarah); and
     2. Secondarily, by a number of family trees on Ancestry making this connection.
     3. An Oliver HIGGINBOTHAM was appointed administrator of the estate of Chattin DOGGETT in May 1817.
However, none of the family trees provide documentary proof of her parentage. so I only show it here as a likely hypothesis based on the DNA matches.^4,1,5,6,7

The will appointed Elizabeth as executor and the court ordered her to produce an inventory of Richard's estate at the next session of the court. An inventory was filed by Elizabeth on 11 Jul 1722..."
     "Richard's will provided that if Elizabeth should remarry his son George should succeed her as executor.On 8 Mar 1726/7, George was appointed executor if place of Elizabeth, and on 14 Jun 1727 a new inventory of the estate was filed. The will provided that his son Bushrod should receive a negro slave named Tom, that his widow should have a life estate in all the property, and that on her death or remarriage the personal estate should be divided equally among all the children, except that his daughter Ann should get only a half-share because she had received some gifts during her lifetime.The residuary estate in the land is not disposed of by the will, and presumably went according to the law of descent to the eldest son, George. The daughter Apphia is not mentioned by name in the will."

     Marriage #3 (above) is so far unidentified. Elizabeth CREEL/CREAL could conceivably have been a first wife of Thomas J., who died right after their marriage, but there is no proof of this.
     Marriage #4 (above) is probably Thomas's son, Thomas J. The 1850, 1860 and 1870 censuses show that the Thomas Thomas J. in 1850 & 1870) who married a Jane was born ca 1804-5.      "In the name of God - Amen
     "I Thomas Daggett of the County and State aforesaid being of sound and disproving mind & memory but of advanced age, do make this may last will and testament, hereby revoking all others hertofore made by me.
     "Item 1st. I desire that at my death [illegible] body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner suitable, and according to my circumstances in life. That my soul may return to god who gave it.
     "Item 2nd. I will and direct that all my just debts be paid by my executorts herein after named without hinderance and as soon as it is practicable for them to do so.
     "Item 3rd. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Ruthy for during her natural life all the property both real and personal consisting of lot of land number one hundred & nine (109) in the 7th district of originally Coweta but no Campbell County containing two hundred two and one half acres be the same [illegible] in life with [illegible] all the appurtenances there to belonging, horses, hogs, cows & sheep with all my household and kitchen furniture, plantation tools with all and every species or [illegible] of property of any description whatsoever that I may own at the time of my death.

From Wikipedia: "Campbell County, Georgia was a county of the U.S. state of Georgia from 1828 to 1931. It was created by the state legislature on December 20, 1828 from land taken from Fayette, Coweta, and Carroll counties, and from the half of DeKalb County which became Fulton County soon afterward. Georgia's Cherokee Land Lottery of 1832 also added to the county. The county was named for Duncan G. Campbell, one of the U.S. commissioners responsible for the Treaty of Indian Springs.[1][2]

The original county seat was Campbellton; however, when the Atlanta & West Point Railroad began to plan its route, the town's residents said no due to noise concerns. The tracks were laid through Fairburn instead, which flourished while Campbellton died out, and Fairburn became the county seat in 1870. The Campbell County Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The northwestern half of Campbell (and a bit more of Carroll) became Douglas County in 1870, divided on October 17 at the Chattahoochee River. The remainder of Campbell County was ceded to Fulton County at the end of 1931, along with Milton County, after Campbell County went bankrupt. The legislation creating the merger was enacted on August 9, 1929, with Milton being added to the process in 1931."²⁴ He was the administrator of Chatten/Chattin Doggett Sr.'s estate in May 1817 at Clarke Co., Georgia, USA;

     "Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Doggett John Browning are held and firmly bound unto their Honors the Judges of the Court of Ordinary for said County and their successors in office in the just and full sum of one thousand dollars for the payment of which sum to the said judges and their successors we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators in the whole and for the whole sum jointly and severally firm by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 1st day of May 1820.

There are several marriages recorded in VA and GA for Thomas DOGGETTs that could be for earlier marriages, pre-dating his marriage to Rutha MCCALLUM in 1827 (by which time he had at least two children (Sarah, aged 14 in 1827, and Nancy aged 2 in 1827).These marriages are

     2.     1802     Susannah SMITH     Oglethorpe Co., GA
     3.     1824     Elizabeth CREAL     Clarke Co., GA
     4.     1825     Jane BELL     Oglethorpe Co., GA

Some of these marriages may have been for the son or an uncle of this Thomas.
     Marriage #1 (above) is recorded in Culpeper, VA and is for a Thomas B. DOGGETT.
     Marriage #2 (above) seems to have been for this Thomas DOGGETT. He would have been 24 at the time. Susannah was probably the wife of some or all of Thomas's earlier children.
     Marriage #3 (above) is so far unidentified. Elizabeth CREEL/CREAL could conceivably have been a first wife of Thomas J., who died right after their marriage, but there is no proof of this.
     Marriage #4 (above) is probably Thomas's son, Thomas J. The 1850, 1860 and 1870 censuses show that the Thomas Thomas J. in 1850 & 1870) who married a Jane was born ca 1804-5. This makes it possible (probable?) that this Thomas was Thomas J. DOGGETT, the son of Thomas probsbly his 1st wife Susannah (SMITH) Doggett.^{3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12}
