IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN. I HENRY BROWN of the County of Essex and Parish of South ffarnham being in good health of body and of sound and perfect memory praise be therefore given to Almighty God for the same do make & ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following, That is to say first and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of almighty God and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as touching the disposition of all temporal Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth.
Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Son HENRY BROWN all my land that lies on the South side of the Horse Path leading round the lower side of my plantation Beginning at corner Ash in the mouth of a small branch that runs into the Middle Branch by the side of the sd Horse Path running in the sd Branch to a Spanish oak at the head of the sd branch and thence along as the Horse Path goes now to a red oak over by READ so along the line of WILLIAM GATEWOOD to him his heirs lawfully begotten for Ever & in case my sd Son Henry Brown should die without issue that then the sd Land to fall to my Son MORDECAI BROWN to him and his heirs lawfully begotten for Ever
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son JOHN BROWN all the rest of my land that lies on the North side of the aforesd dividing branch and the aforesd mark't trees of the dividing line of my Son Henry's to him my sd Son John Brown and his heirs lawfully begotten for ever and incase my sd Son John should die without issue that then the sd Land to fall to my Son RICHARD to him and his heirs lawfully begotten for ever.
Item I lend my now dwelling plantation to my loving Wife KEZIAH BROWN during her life or widowhood. Item my will and desire is that in case my two sons Henry and Mordecai both die without issue that then their part of my sd land to fall to my Son Richard to him and his heirs lawfully begotten for ever.
Item my will and desire is in case my two sons John and Richard should die without issue that then their part of the land fall to my Son Mordecai to him and his heirs lawfully begotten forever.
Item If all my sons should die without issue that then all my land to be equally divided between my two Daughters JANE and KEZIAH BROWN to them and their heirs lawfully begotten of their bodies for ever.
Item If all my children should die without issue lawfully begotten that then my land to fall to my Godson HENRY BOUGHAN to him and his heirs lawfully begotten forever.
item I give to my Son Henry Brown one gun and my great Table after his mothers decease.
Item I give under my son John Brown my short Trumpet muzzle gun.
Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Jane Brown a feather bed & furniture and one cow
and the Mollatto boy Hazzard after her mothers decease.
Item I give to my Son Henry Brown one shilling.
Item I give to my son John Brown one shilling.
Item I lend all the rest of my estate of what nature and kind whatsoever to my loving Wife Keziah
Brown during her natural life and widowhood and afterwards to be equally divided amongst my three youngest children.
Item I doe hereby constitute and appoint my loving Wife Keziah Brown and my loving Son Henry Brown full and whole Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoaking disannulling and making void all former wills and bequests by me heretofore made and appointing this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form aforesd. Unto my son Henry Brown my now dwelling plantation and all of my land lying between the dividing branch and the middle branch.
Unto my son Francis Brown all the remainder of my land lying on the upper side of the middle branch.
Unto my daughter Sarah Boughan land beginning at the bridge and so up the branch to a spring in Thomas Wood's old field ... to a dividing corner tree of Francis Brown Senr. ... to the middle branch.

In the name of God Amen
I ffrancis Brown senior in the parish of South ffarnham in the County of Rapp being very sick and weake of body butt of perfect sense and memory doe make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme ffolowing I give and bequeath my souk unto Al-mighty God that gave it me with a sure and certayne hope of a joy-full Resurrection through the merits of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body unto my mother the earth to be decently interred and for my worldly Estate in manner and form following after my just and Lawfall debts are satisfied.
I give and bequeath unto my son ffrancis Brown after mine and my Loving wife Elizabeth decease all that necke of Land Lying on the north side of my devident of Land I now live on bounded as followeth that is to say strayt away through and mild field from the Run of the deviling branch the mill road which goes to my son Daniel goes over & for a small branch neare my ould dwelling house called by the name of the spring branch which sayd Land I give and bequeath unto my said son ffrancis to him and his heirs forever.

I ffrancis Brown senior in the parish of South ffarnham in the County of Rapp being very sick and weake of body butt of perfect sense and memory doe make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme ffolowing I give and bequeath my souk unto Al-mighty God that gave it me with a sure and certayne hope of a joy-full Resurrection through the merits of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body unto my mother the earth to be decently interred and for my worldly Estate in manner and form following after my just and Lawfall debts are satisfied.

Will of Francis Brown of Southfarnham Parish in the County of Essex being sick and weak of body, dated 2 May 1708.
Unto my loving wife Elizabeth all my land and plantation whereon I now live excepting one parcell of wood land that lyeth on the uper and westermost side of a branch called the Middle Branch which I appoint to be sold by my executors and the production thereof shall goe to pay all my debts. The remainder my loving wife Elizabeth Brown do hold dureing her naturall life and after her death if my son Daniel Brown is alive, he enjoy the land and plantation dureing his naturall life and after his death the land to descend to Ann Brown the daughter of Daniel Brown, and for want of issue to descend to her sister Elizabeth Brown and for want of issue to the children of my son Daniel Brown and Elizabeth his wife. If my son Daniel dye before his mother Elizabeth, then his present wife doe possess the land and plantation untill my grand daughter Ann Browne do attain to the age of eighteen years or day of marriage.
Unto my granddaughter Anne Brown daughter to my son Daniel Brown one feather bed and bolster with rugg and blanketts, curtain and vallens all new, four cows, six new pewter dishes, one iron pot when she shall attain to the age of eighteen years or on the day of her marriage.
Unto my loving wife Elizabeth one Negro man Jack during her naturall life and after her decease to my son Daniel Brown, but if the said Negro should be alive at the death of my son Daniel Brown then my granddaughter Anne doe possess the Negro.
All the rest of my personal estate unto my loving wife Elizabeth Brown, whom I appoint with my son Daniel Brown executor and executrix.

The remainder my loving wife Elizabeth Brown do hold dureing her naturall life and after her death if my son Daniel Brown is alive, he enjoy the land and plantation dureing his naturall life and after his death the land to descend to Ann Brown the daughter of Daniel Brown, and for want of issue to descend to her sister Elizabeth Brown and for want of issue to the children of my son Daniel Brown and Elizabeth his wife. If my son Daniel dye before his mother Elizabeth, then his present wife doe possess the land and plantation untill my grand daughter Ann Browne do attain to the age of eighteen years or day of marriage.
Unto my granddaughter Anne Brown daughter to my son Daniel Brown one feather bed and bolster with rugg and blanketts, curtain and vallens all new, four cows, six new pewter dishes, one iron pot when she shall attain to the age of eighteen years or on the day of her marriage.
Unto my loving wife Elizabeth one Negro man Jack during her naturall life and after her decease to my son Daniel Brown, but if the said Negro should be alive at the death of my son Daniel Brown then my granddaughter Anne doe possess the Negro.

I ffrancis Brown senior in the parish of South ffarnham in the County of Rapp being very sick and weake of body butt of perfect sense and memory doe make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme ffolowing I give and bequeath my souk unto Al-mighty God that gave it me with a sure and certayne hope of a joy-full Resurrection through the merits of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body unto my mother the earth to be decently interred and for my worldly Estate in manner and form following after my just and Lawfall debts are satisfied.

I give and bequeath unto my son ffrancis Brown after mine and my Loving wife Elizabeth decease all that necke of Land Lying on the north side of my devident of Land I now live on bounded as followeth that is to say strayt away through and mild field from the Run of the deviling branch the mill road which goes to my son Daniel goes over & for a small branch neare my ould dwelling house called by the name of the spring branch which sayd Land I give and bequeath unto my said son ffrancis to him and his heirs forever.
I also give and bequeath unto my son Daniel Brown after my and my Loving wife Elizabeth decease all that Rest of my land I am now possessed with all my plantation and housing to him and his heires to have and to hould in fee simple for ever also itt is my will and dealer that my household goods be equally divided between my two sons ffrancis and Daniel both in quality and goodness to them and their heirs to have and to hould in fee simple for ever also it is my will and desier there be a row of orchard trees planted along ye sayd ould field to devide the above sayd Land. I also give and bequeath unto my sons ffrancis and Daniel my parcell of Land Lying on the south side of pescataway Creeke called by the name of ye wading place poynt equally between them and their heirs forever I alsoe give and bequeath unto my fower daughters Elizabeth, Sarah, Mary and Rebecca one shilling apeace to be payd them by my lawful executor or executrix I also give and bequeath unto Daniel Brown the son of my son Francis Brown one feather bed with the furniture belonging unto itt to him and his heirs forever after my and my "sites decease.
I give and bequeath unto my Loving wife Elizabeth all the Rest of my moveable Estate that I am now possessed with to have and to hould without any Lett or molestation to her and her heirs forever I also give and bequeath unto my flower Godsons that is Joseph and John Edmondson and Ffras Brown the son of Daniell Brown senior my neighbour and ffra Graves the son of Ffras Graves deceased to every one of them one pocket bible of fine or six shillings price to be truly payd them after my decease by my Law-full executor or executrix I alsoe apoynt my Loving wife Elizabeth my sole and whole executrix of this my Last will and testament and this my Last will to cut off and disannull all fformer wills whatsoever as witness my hand and seal this 10th day of novher 1690

In the name of God Amen
I ffrancis Brown senior in the parish of South ffarnham in the County of Rapp being very sick and weake of body butt of perfect sense and memory doe make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme ffolowing I give and bequeath my souk unto Al-mighty God that gave it me with a sure and certayne hope of a joy-full Resurrection through the merits of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body unto my mother the earth to be decently interred and for my worldly Estate in manner and form following after my just and Lawfall debts are satisfied.
