According to historical documents, this George Dameron was a Revolutionary War Patriot. There is some discrepancy about his birth and death dates so I have used the most probable.
This George Dameron served with the famous Morgan's Riflemen group in the Revolution. He is shown to have enilsted in March of 1777 in Captain Dooley's Cavalry. Morgan's Riflemen usually wore buckskin shirts and were awesome sharpshooters in the Revolution and were highly regarded by their British enemies. Other weapons they carried were tomahawks and long knifes. Morgan's Riflemen were at Valley Forge between 1777 and 1778.
The children of George and Susannah were: Mickey, a daughter, Wilson, George W., John T., Robert T., Samuel, and Joesph.

The Wakenda Record - 27 Dec 1872 – SUDDEN DEATH – We were pained to learn on last Saturday that Mr. Buckner Smart, living some three or four miles east of town, died very suddenly on Thursday morning. He was eating breakfast as usual and passing his coffee cup for the second time, when his head suddenly inclined forward and he was dead without a struggle. It is supposed that he died of some disease of the heart. Mr. Smart has lived in the county nearly forty years, and was sixty-three years old at the time of his death. He was a strictly honest and conscientious man, a good citizen, a kind husband and an indulgent father. He was such a citizen as any community can ill afford to lose, and in him was verified the line which has passed into a proverb: "An honest man's the noblest work of God." The sympathies of the entire community will go with his estimable widow in her declining years.
18 Apr 1874 Wakenda Record - Administratrix Notice – Notice is hereby given that letters of administration upon the estate of Buckner Smart, deceased, bearing date 25 Mar 1873 have been grant to the undersigned by the Probate court of Carroll County. All persons having claims against the estate are hereby notified to present them etc…..[signed] Nancy Smart Administratrix.
