John "Jack" Gentry was listed as David Gentry Jr.'s neighbor in a census on 6 August 1810 at Madison Co., Kentucky, USA; GENTRY households in the 1810 federal census for Madison Co., KY: This is a temporary update on my research to identify the GENTRY families listed in the 1810 federal census for Madison Co., KY. I have found twelve listings for Gentry in the 1810 federal census for Madison Co., KY. The listings are in alphabetical order, so the fact that two individuals are listed on consecutive lines does not prove that they were necessarily living close to each other. I have used Ancestry.com as my source for images to find these listings, and it should be noted that on at least three occasions Ancestry mis transcribed the given names of the individuals listed (see #1, #5, and #9, below). This listing may not be complete.
I have (probably) identified seven of the twelve listed (marked above with an asterisk "*"). Most of the given names were share by many different GENTRY families over the generations. The seven household that seem to match the records I have found so far are:
Listing #11, Elizabeth GENTRY, is probably the widow of a GENTRY husband, but I haven't found a suitable spouse of that name and age (c. 1766-84).
The remainder will require further research. I hope to identify more of the families as my research continues.5

Listing #11, Elizabeth GENTRY, is probably the widow of a GENTRY husband, but I haven't found a suitable spouse of that name and age (c. 1766-84).
