County of Northumberrand deced did by his Last Will and Testamt. in Writeing dated the Twentieth day of June Anno Dom: one thousand six hundred and sixty three as relacon thereto had may appeare, give and devise (interalia) unto his Son, JOSIAS GASKINS (the Father of the said JOSIAS, party to these pr:sents), the Plantacon whereon he the Testator aforesd. then lived being Two hundred and fifty acres of land granted to him by Pattent dated the Fifteenth day of September one thousand six hundred forty and nine scituate in GREAT WICCOCOMOCO RIVER being a neck of six hundred bounded (as by the said Pattent expressed), on the Northern part by a Branch parting this from the Land of JOHN DENNIS, on the Southerne part by a Branch parting this from the Land of PETER KNIGHT & running West & Southerly into the Woods, which said JOSIAS, the Devisee, being dead and the said THOMAS, party to these pr:sents conceaveing by the Words of the sd, Devise that he, the Devisee, had but an Estate for Life in the sd, Land which determined at his death and reverted to the sd, THOMAS GASKINS, party to these pr:sents. the Son of THOMAS GASKINS, Elder Brother of JOSIAS GASKINS, the sd, Devisee& Eldest Son of the sd. Devisor brought a Writt of Ejectint. in the General' Court to oust the sd, JOSIAS, party to these pr:sents, (who was in possession of the said Lands) from his claime, but by means of the affinity betweene the said parties with other consideracons them thereunto moveing, the sd.
