     Thomas Paine was born about 1739 in Spotylvania County, and about 1757, he married Elizbeth(unknown).On 18 November 1773 he and his wife sold their interest in his father's estate and shorty after moved from Spotsylvania County to Orange County, Virginia. They remained there until their deaths. Thomas Paine left a will in Orange County dated 15 November 1809, which was offered for probate 5 September 1815. It is not known exactly when Elizabeth Paine died, but from the will of Thomas Paine it is clear that she was still alive when he died. Thomas and Elizabeth Paine were parents of 12 children.
