Henry RIDGELY's third marriage to Mary, widow of Mareen DUVALL was too late for her to be mother to any of his children. That leaves Elizabeth HOWARD to be the mother of Henry's children Sarah and Henry. As added circumstantial evidence as to the mother of Sarah and Henry, Jr., note that Sarah named her only daughter from her first marriage to John BREWER, Elizabeth (after her mother) and Henry RIDGDLY, Jr. named his two daughters Anne (after his wife's mother) and Elizabeth (after his mother).

Subject: [MDPGEORG] Mary who married Mareen Duvall

The following three items show that Mary, wife of Mareen Duvall and Henry Ridgely; and Mary Stanton, the widow Dodd, wife of Robert Tyler to be two different women who married Jacob Henderson.
On 9 June 1800, Benjamin Duvall deposed that he was 82 years of age and that he knew the late Rev. Jacob Henderson since his boyhood and that Henderson married the widow of his grandfather and after her death Henderson married the Widow Tyler. He furthermore stated that he knew both of the wives of Henderson and knew all the slaves and that he knew of no white children in the home of Rev. Jacob Henderson. (AA Co. Deeds, Liber NH no. 10, folio 379)

Widow Mary Dodd. Marriage to Robert Tyler: 10 Jun 1718 at Queen Anne's Parish, Prince George' s County, MD. Also recorded 12 Jan 1718, St. Anne's Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Anne Arundel Gentry, Volume 3, page 125: Before 1712 Madam Duvall-Ridgely married the Rev. Jacob Henderson, a priest of the Church of England, and rector of Queen Anne's Parish. He was born in or about 1684 and was thus junior to her by several years. [Liber TP no. 4, folio 197]
