     Thomas Fitz Gerald 10th Earl of Kildare was born in 1513.1 He married Frances Fortescue, daughter of Sir Adrian Fortescue, before December 1529.1

Thomas Fitz Gerald 10th Earl of Kildare died between 3 February 1536 and 1537 at Tower of London, London, City of London, Greater London, England.1
     He was 10th Earl of Kildare.1

; THOMAS FitzGERALD, 10th Earl of Kildare, called 'Silken Thomas' from the silken fringes adorning the helmets of his 140 mounted retainers the day (11 June 1534) he came out in rebellion against the Crown, having been misinformed that his father had been beheaded; b 1513; before he was forced to surrender he killed John Allen, Archbp of Dublin; he submitted 5 Aug 1535 to the Ld Deputy of Ireland and was sent to the Tower of London for 16 months, being beheaded 3 Feb 1536/7 (contrary to a pledge that he would be pardoned), while five of his uncles (Sir James, Oliver, Richard, Sir John and Walter FitzGerald, two of whom seem to have had no part in his insurrection, HENRY VIII's aim probably being to wipe out the family altogether) were hanged, drawn and quartered; m seemingly by Dec 1529 Frances, dau of Sir Adrian Fortescue, but dsp, the Earldom having been forfeited by attainder 1 May 1536 in the Irish Parl and c 1537 in the E Parl.1
