Capt. Patrick Shaw1

; from Fox Cemetery Association (Posted 16 May 2010 by Fox Cemetery Association):
"Notes from Donya Lanham-Wright - We now have the will of Benjamin, and there is no son John listed on it. John Shaw of Guilford County is the son of Captain Patrick Shaw - an ancestor of the Morrows of Kaufman County, Texas. Patrick Shaw came over from Ireland in the 1780's, and it would just fit beautifully for Benjamin Shaw to be his son. But alas! No Benjamin in the will. And Benjamin is said to have been born in North Carolina in 1765. But John Shaw did witness a land deed for Benjamin 16 Aug 1788.
I can't help but feel there is some connection between Capt. Patrick Shaw and Benjamin. They both have sons William and daughters Elizabeth "Betsy". (Ironically, the matron of the Morrow clan of Kaufman Co, Texas is Elizabeth "Betsy" Shaw, just as it is for the Fox clan of Kaufman County.) Patrick is not Benjamin's father, but could he be an uncle?"1
