He was a mentioned with Washington Banks Hudson and Louisa Marksberry; per Clayton [1880:483]: "Washington B. Hudson is descended from English ancestry who came to this country at a very early day and settled in Virginia, where two of them remained, while one removed to New York and settled on the Hudson River.
Of the two remaining in Virginia, from one, Reuben [sic], is descended the subject of this sketch.
Joshua Hudson, grandfather of Washington, lived in Amherst Co., Va., and was a wealthy and influential farmer, the owner of much land and many slaves, as was killed by the falling of a tree. He was a soldier in the war of 1812.
Aratia Hudson was his only son , who at the age of twenty-one married a Miss Banks, of Garrard co., Ky. Their children were Joshua, James, Washington B., Dr. Lynn B., Nancy, Isaiah B., Reuben, Melvina, Commodore Perry, and Mary Louisa.
Washington B. Hudson was born July 3, 1813, in Garrard co., Ky., on sugar Creek. His boyhood and early manhood were spent at home. Aug. 26, 1833, he was married to Miss Louisa Marksbury, youngest daughter of Isaac Marksbury, a prominent man in his day. He was magistrate of the court for more than twenty years, a man noted for his many good qualities of head and heart, and an active and efficient member of the Christian Church.
The children of W. B. and L. M. Hudson have been William D., Aratia, Isaac M. James, Mollie Lynn, Clayton A., Allie and Thomas J.
Washington B. Hudson after his marriage engaged in farming on his own account. In 1848 he came to Davidson Co., Tenn., and settled on the farm he now occupies, purchasing it from Dr. James Overton. His original purchase was five hundred and fifty-four acres, to which, however, he added from time to until his farm comprised eight hundred acres of excellent land, three hundred acres of which he still retains, the rest having been apportioned to his children on their marriage.
Mr. and Mrs. Hudson are members of the Christian Church, a pretty edifice, of which stands at the food of the lane leading to their house, Mr. Hudson bearing the principal part of the cost of its erection."5 James H. Hudson was also known as James Hudson.2

Reuben Banks Hudson was a mentioned with Washington Banks Hudson and Louisa Marksberry; per Clayton [1880:483]: "Washington B.
Hudson bearing the principal part of the cost of its erection."7

; There are two R. B. Hudson households in the 1860 Johnson Co., TX and 1870 DeWitt Co., TX federal censuses that are sometime attributed to Reuben Banks Hudson #80954. It is curious that the two Texas R. B. Hudsons have KY and TN roots and some of their children were born there, so there may be some family relationship that I haven't uncovered yet. GA Vaut.4,2,8 Reuben Banks Hudson was also known as R. B. Hudson.4

Reuben Banks Hudson was listed as a resident in Margaret "Peggy" Banks's household in the census report in 1840 at Garrard Co., Kentucky, USA; [Note: The children in the household seem to match for the most part, except for the of only one male age 15-19. Both Isaiah (b1821) and Reuben (b1822) would fit this, but one seems to be missing. James H., Washington, and Malvina were married by 1840. There is one unidentified female age 10-14 (i.e., b. 1826-30). There is an Isaac Marksberry several lines later who may have been related to Louisa Marksberry, wife of Washington Banks (their son), but this Isaac is to young to be Louisa's father (also named Isaac).]

Commodore Perry Hudson was a mentioned with Washington Banks Hudson and Louisa Marksberry; per Clayton [1880:483]: "Washington B.
Hudson bearing the principal part of the cost of its erection."5

     W. D. Hudson, the firstborn of W. B. and Louisa M. Hudson, died on July 17, 1901, in the sixty-eighth year of his age, leaving a widow and seven surviving children, five children having preceded him to the grave. Brother Hudson was twice married, each wife being the mother of six children. About a year ago his residence was burned. In his efforts to save his household goods he became overheated and exhausted, from which he took a severe cold; and he never entirely recovered. The immediate cause of his death was typhoid fever, with which he was sick for about two weeks. Our brother obeyed the gospel in early life and continued until death a consistent member of the church. Amid many trials, difficulties, and discouragements, he was ever loyal to the truth and delighted in its advancement. He was always ready to declare his confidence in the word of the Lord. In Spring Hill Cemetery, near the remains of his father, mother, and others dear to him, his body rests from the cares of life; his spirit is in the keeping of Him who is able to fulfill every promise to the quick and the dead.

Hudson bearing the principal part of the cost of its erection."1

Hudson bearing the principal part of the cost of its erection."1

She was a mentioned with Washington Banks Hudson and Louisa Marksberry; per Clayton [1880:483]: "Washington B.
Hudson bearing the principal part of the cost of its erection."1

Mary "Mollie" Lynn Hudson appeared on the census of 12 July 1860 in the household of Washington Banks Hudson and Louisa Marksberry at District 19, Davidson Co., Tennessee, USA; Notes: Next door to W. D. Hudson, his son.

He was a witness to per Clayton [1880:483]: "Washington B.
     Washington B. Hudson after his marriage engaged in farming on his own account. Susan Jane Terrell appeared in the census of 22 July 1870 at District 7, Sumner Co., Kentucky, USA;
Susan is next door to her father, Henry T. TERRILL (lines 10-13) and her brotehr-in-law George Shall CLARK (lines 21-28). She has in her household two sons by her 2nd husband, John WILSON, and four by her 2st husband, Ruben HUDSON. The Sarah HUDSON has the same birthdate as her daughter Laura (who appears in the 1880 census). Sarah appears in no other census. There are two Black families on the previous page (p. 670-A): a William TERRELL and a Ted TERRELL (lines 15-24 and 25-28, respectively). These are probably former TERRELL family slaves.

Susan Jane Terrell appeared in the census of 17 June 1880 at District 5, Sumner Co., Tennessee, USA;
Susan has clearly moved back to TN from TX to be with her family. There are four TERRELL households next to her (same page and prior page), including a Mary TERRELL, widow aged 77, who might be her mother. The other households may be Susan's siblings. All of the heads of household were born in KY, as Susan was. What is a little confusing is that Susan is already named WILSON and has two WILSON boys, along with her HUDSON children. So she had clearly remarried before this date.

Susan Jane Terrell appeared in the census of 1 June 1900 at Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee, USA;
For some reason, Susan is listed under her first husband's name, HUDSON, even though in the 1880 and 1910 censuses she is listed under her second husband's name, WILSON.

Sarah Elizabeth Knight was born at Kentucky, USA; born in KY per death certificate.3 She married Rheuben "Ruby" Hudson before 1853
; [Note: I originally thought that the Rheuben Hudson in the 1860 Henry Co., KY census was Reuben Banks Hudson, son of Horatio and Margaret (Banks) Hudson, and that this Elizabeth was that Reuben's 2nd wife. I now believe that the two Reubens are different people. GA Vaut]
Their oldest known child (1860 census) Thomas was born ca 1853.1,4,5
Sarah Elizabeth Knight and Rheuben "Ruby" Hudson appeared in the census of 21 June 1860 at Pleasureville, Henry Co., Kentucky, USA; [This is the wrong Reuben Hudson. There is an R. B. Hudson in in the federal census for Johnson Co., TX at this time, living with a C. P. (Commodore Perry?) Hudson and Enos Clevenger, husband of Malvina Banks Hudson and probably their brother-in-law. I believe that the Texas R. B. is more likely to be the correct Reuben Banks. GA Vaut]
