OBIT: John W. Crouch, an aged and well known farmer died at his home near Worton Station on Monday, aged 73 years and 3 days. Mr. Crouch had for some time been a sufferer with consumption and the end was not unexpected. He leaves a wife and give children namely: Sallie B. Barnes, Ruth McIntire, Carrie Shandley, James and Charles Crouch. Services were held at his lae home on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock; Dr. J.B. Merritt officiating; interment at Union. The bearers were: Webster Lynch, William Lynch, John W. Barnes, J.B. McIntyre, Charles Crouch and James Crouch. Chestertown Transcript Dec. 16, 1897.

OBIT: John W. Crouch died at his home near Worton on Monday last, 73 years. Leaves a wife and five children: Mrs. John W. Barnes, Mrs. John W. McIntyre of Edesville, Mrs. Carrie Shandly of Wilmington, Messrs James Crouch of Kennedyville and Charles Crouch of Rock Hall. Services in the Home Dr. J.B. Merritt. Interment at Union Cemetery.
