; Boyer seems to offer two different wives for Payn Fitz John: Sybil de Lacy and Agnes Talbot. It is possible that one of these is a typographical error in his book. [GAV 7 June 2003]2 Payn Fitz John married Sybil Talbot, daughter of Geoffrey Talbot and Agnes de Lacy.3

; Payn fitz John, son of John "Monoculus" fitz Robert and Payn fitz John of Ewyas, co. Hereford, the father of Cecily fitz John (m. Roger fitz Miles), are possibly the same people.
